The people behind the Movimento reFloresta

“Ancestry has always taught us that the meaning of life is collective”

The Founders

Martin Frankenberg

"After 20 years of working with tourism, I've lost count of how many expeditions I've organized throughout the forest for all kinds of people: Brazilians, foreigners, families, companies, NGOs, and much more. Learning each time more about its biodiversity, history, and the people who live there, the Amazon has captivated me. Every time I go there, I feel a connection to something fundamental in life. I've understood that for any kind of change to happen in popular awareness, knowledge and affection are necessary. That's what we want to offer to everyone who joins us in the reFloresta Movement. Let's Amazonize the world!"

"Nature, art, and people fuel my life. I've always dedicated myself to the visual arts, photography, and communication, and over the past 15 years, I've embarked on a path of education and artistic and social projects. Dreaming of the possibility of finding new ways to live collectively and with greater integrity, traveling and discovering new worlds have also become passions in my life. When I first visited the Amazon in 2005, I was captivated by its power, immensity, and beauty, and especially by the completely new world that revealed itself to me through the people who lived there: the people of the rivers and forests. Since then, I've continued to discover and learn from the Amazon. I often say that each trip there awaits me with a new treasure. Working with the youth there represents, for me, the path to keeping the forest standing, nourishing our planet with wisdom and harmony."

"I first encountered the Amazon in 1995, when I began my career in the corporate world. Arriving there, I felt a strength and grandeur that I couldn't quite grasp at the time. Every time I return, I feel drawn to the forest. Over the past 10 years, my work has shifted from business management to organization and cultural development, with a greater emphasis on social and human development. My most essential learning is that to face our greatest dilemmas as humanity, we need community and nature. I want to bring this direction to the youth, the generation that currently has the best tools to overcome our past and future."
