The journeys

"And if we can give attention to some vision that escapes this blindness that we are experiencing all over the world, perhaps it can open our minds to some cooperation between the people - not to save others, but to save ourselves."

The Journeys last 8 days, of which 6 days are spent in riverside communities where people live today and are heirs to the ancient knowledge of the indigenous and ribeirinhos, and their way of living integrated with nature.

These communities develop activities related to community-based tourism, family farming, handicraft production and cassava flour production.

To reach the communities, we will cross the Tapajós and Arapiuns rivers in a traditional boat and enter the Amazon rainforest.

How do selection processes take place?

The selection process

The selective process:

Who is it for?

This call is open to young individuals from around the world who are committed to engaging with the Amazon, and who wish to take action for the forest, its peoples, and the climate crisis.

We are bringing together approximately 20 participants, aged 18 to 27, from diverse regions—including both urban areas and riverside communities of the Arapiuns—for a collective and transformative experience.

Our goal is to form a group that reflects global ethnic, racial, and sociocultural diversity, bringing together different life stories, worldviews, and relationships with territory, community, and the environment.

Participants should also be available for a period of preparation before the in-person journey. This includes attending online sessions where we will share more about the experience and hold conversations with individuals who live, study, and work in the Amazon region.

  • Fill out the Interest Form
The first step is to complete the Interest Form via the link available on our Instagram and website. This is how you let us know that you’d like to be part of the Journey. Make sure to follow us and stay tuned for updates!

  • Join our Information Session
Once applications are open, we invite all interested participants to an online conversation with young people who have taken part in previous editions. This is a space to learn more about the Journey and the reFLORESTA Movement, and to ask any questions you might have.

  • Pre-selection & Group Dynamics
After reviewing all Interest Forms, we’ll make a pre-selection. If you’re chosen for this second phase, you’ll receive an email invitation to take part in a group dynamic with other pre-selected candidates. These sessions help us get to know each other better and understand how we work collectively.

  • Final Selection Announcement
About a month later, we will announce the final list of selected participants.

What happens after the journey?

Upon returning, the new members connect with participants from previous editions, bringing the experiences and reflections of the immersion into action.
