The projects created during the reFloresta movement’s journeys arise from the relationships established with the communities as a whole. Collaboration has been a foundational principle of the movement since its inception. Throughout the immersion week, multiple activities encourage these connections and lead the group to a key moment in the journey—the Future Workshop.

This workshop exercises the group’s imagination, dreams, and aspirations, bringing everyone involved together to collectively shape a shared future. While some journeys have specific focuses, the intention is for each participant to conceive a project that evolves through successive stages, involving larger groups until it becomes a future owned and shaped by the community.

The objective throughout these stages is for the projects to be imbued with purpose and supported by hands that help bring them to life, continuing beyond the eight-day journey and into the future.
